EasyTransfer proudly participated as an official sponsor of the British Council East Asia Education Week held in Hong Kong from March 5-7, 2025. The event brought together global education leaders, policy makers, and innovators to explore the evolving landscape of international education in East Asia.
Following the success of the inaugural East Asia Education Week held in Malaysia in 2024, this year’s event took place at the main campus of the University of Hong Kong. Over the past decade, more than one million East Asian students have studied in the UK, making up 32% of the total international student population. This year, the event focused on empowering students throughout their study journey and beyond.
Key highlights of the Education Week included the East Asia Agent Conference and the Alumni UK Symposium. The conference offered in-depth discussions on the latest developments in UK international education policies, particularly the evolving Agent Quality Framework (AQF). The Alumni Symposium brought together UK alumni from across East Asia to explore emerging trends in business and technology, share experiences, and foster valuable connections.
As part of the conference’s speaker lineup, EasyTransfer President and Founder Tony Gao delivered a keynote address that underscored the increasing demand for financial accessibility among East Asian students studying abroad. He highlighted how EasyTransfer’s secure, affordable, and user-friendly platform is meeting this demand by simplifying tuition and housing payments for students and families worldwide.
“Education is a powerful enabler, and our mission is to ensure that financial barriers do not stand in the way of international students pursuing their academic dreams,” said Tony Gao. “We’re proud to support the East Asia education ecosystem with secure, affordable, and user-friendly financial solutions.”
The conference also provided an opportunity for EasyTransfer to reinforce its commitment to supporting institutions as they adapt to an increasingly mobile student population. As East Asia continues to be one of the largest regions of origin for international students, the need for trusted and scalable financial solutions is more critical than ever.
A sincere thank you to the British Council for organizing this impactful event, and to all the educators, partners, and innovators who joined us in shaping the future of international education. We look forward to building on these conversations and continuing our mission to serve students around the world with reliable, innovative, and accessible financial services.
